Summary

Pilaf serves as a primary antagonist in the Dragon Ball series, portrayed as a diminutive, impish demi-human whose sole ambition is to amass power and conquer the world. He holds the title of emperor, complete with a crown and a castle, presiding over the Reich Pilaf. Despite the ominous name, this evil empire consists of only three members: Pilaf himself and his two loyal subordinates, Shu and Mai. Pilaf attempts to gather all seven Dragon Balls on multiple occasions but is consistently thwarted. His first attempt fails when Goku and his friends intervene. He tries again but is stopped by the Red Ribbon Army. In his third effort, he releases the evil Piccolo Daimaou, who promptly betrays him. Later, at the start of Dragon Ball GT, Pilaf accidentally uses the Black Star Dragon Balls to wish for Goku to revert to a child, an error that triggers the central conflict of the entire series.
