Summary
Kuraudo Ooishi is a veteran police investigator stationed in Okinomiya who is nearing the typical Japanese retirement age of fifty-five. Driven by personal motivations, he has sworn to solve the mystery surrounding the Hinamizawa murders before his career ends. His unorthodox and aggressive methods often make him appear as a nuisance to the local villagers. Throughout several arcs, he attempts to recruit one of the main characters to serve as an informant, occasionally unintentionally fueling their paranoia in the process.
