Summary
Fourteen-year-old Hatsune utilizes her Level 4 metamorphosis abilities as part of The Hound Special Esper Team, working alongside her partner Akira. Akira often feels frustrated by her tendency to act according to her default lupine alternate manifestation, a form that reaches peak efficacy only when she is in a state of extreme, days-long starvation rather than simple hunger. This voracious appetite frequently interferes with their missions. Although Minamoto’s training helps mitigate this flaw, Hatsune still struggles with the fact that she thinks and moves using canine maneuvers instead of human-like actions. Beyond her gluttony and animalistic behavior, she has a habit of becoming deeply attached to anyone who looks past her exterior and treats her as a person, a trait that leads her to attempt to claim Minamoto for herself on two occasions. During an exercise involving her natural potency designation, Kaoru demonstrates that whoever supervises Hatsune must establish dominance from the very beginning, but must do so without being cruel or despotic.
