Summary

Usagi Tsukino, known as Serena in the English dub and nicknamed Bunny in the manga, is the protagonist of the series. Born on June 30 under the Cancer sign with blood type O, she is the daughter of Kenji, a magazine editor, and Ikuko, a dedicated housewife, with a younger brother named Shingo in fifth grade. Her interests include sleeping, eating, video games, and manga, while her favorite colors are pink and white. She excels in Home Economics but struggles with English and Math, preferring ice cream and cake over carrots. Her dream is to visit the Chateau de Versailles, and she hopes to raise a pure white rabbit. She fears dentists, ghosts, and lightning, and her motto is that a sleeping child grows up. She also favors diamonds. Initially portrayed as an immature crybaby who dislikes fighting, Usagi is a carefree schoolgirl with an enormous capacity for love who transforms into Sailor Moon. While she can be selfish, lazy, clumsy, and an academic underachiever who is not very good at cooking, she deeply cares for her friends and family. She is very trusting and believes in the inherent goodness of everyone, refusing to kill even when enemies are transformed into vicious monsters, instead seeking to help them. Throughout the series, Usagi matures significantly, evolving from a childish girl into a capable young woman, although she still exhibits moments of silliness.
