Summary
Chelsea, a freelance assassin in her early twenties, is a recent recruit to Night Raid, the revolutionary army’s elite hit squad. Standing at 157 cm with a B blood type, she carries herself with an aloof and carefree demeanor off-duty, yet remains sharply objective and blunt when voicing her opinions. Her past is marked by tragedy, as her hometown was wiped out by the Empire under suspicion of harboring rebels, leaving her as the sole survivor of her previous team. This loss drives her to foster strong unit cohesion among her nakama, ensuring they can rely on one another for survival. Beneath a mischievous exterior that may be an act, Chelsea possesses a cold, calculating nature that allows her to deliver accurate, albeit harsh, analyses of people and situations. She is known for her love of lollipops, often seen with one in her mouth, and her Teigu, Gaea Foundation, is a cosmetics box that grants her the ability to instantly alter her appearance and physique at will. Her famous quote, "A girl's weapon is her makeup," reflects this utility. Although she initially insults Sheele and Bulat in episode 12, provoking Mine and Tatsumi, she later reveals her true intentions to protect her new comrades from the fate of her old team. As a veteran on par with Akame in experience and kill count, Chelsea is also recognized as one of the most genre-savvy characters in the series.
