Summary

Born on May 1 under the sign of Taurus, Choji Akimichi begins the series at age 13 and grows to 16 by the second part. He starts as a Genin and is promoted to Chuunin in the second arc. Standing at 156.3 cm and weighing 69.3 kg initially, he grows to 172.3 cm and 87.5 kg later. He has type B blood. Choji is a close childhood friend of Shikamaru Nara. Along with Ino Yamanaka and their Jonin sensei Asuma Sarutobi, they form Team 10. He has an intense passion for food, particularly Korean barbecue, snacks, and sweets, disliking anything inedible. His constant hunger often clashes with stealth and teamwork, frustrating his teammates. To manage this, they frequently use food as leverage, offering snacks as rewards or using his favorite treats as blackmail. Despite his enthusiasm for eating, Choji is deeply sensitive about his weight. Insults regarding his size trigger a hostile transformation, significantly boosting his combat resolve. His teammates exploit this trait, using comments on his physique to motivate him into battle when he hesitates. As an Akimichi, his fighting style relies on expanding his body size. At the start of the series, he utilizes the Multi-Size Technique to transform into a large, round form.
