Chin, Yisou

Summary

As the son of Hyakugan Maoh, Yisou is a centipede youkai who possesses the ability to command centipedes. He is also highly proficient in Yin-Yang magic, utilizing Mahjong pieces as mediums to control shikigami. He serves as the catalyst for Hakkai’s transformation into a youkai. Yisou initially dies at the hands of Gonou, but just before his demise, he embeds a Mahjong tile into his own body, transforming his corpse into a shikigami. He had a distant relationship with his father, never seeing eye-to-eye with Hyakugan Maoh. Driven by the destruction of his clan and his own death, he harbors intense revenge motives, displaying an abnormal fixation on Hakkai through psychological attacks. His demeanor is described as that of a sinister, clingy reptile. The objects he holds in his mouth resemble cigarettes but are actually Mahjong counters that can be thrown like needles. He adopted the name Chin Yisou upon becoming a shikigami, which refers to a Mahjong combination meaning "to be dyed in one color," where all tiles are of a single suit without honor tiles. He also controlled a large crab-like shikigami, though his creepy China-boy style puppet familiar is considered more impactful, known for cackling and spitting seed beams from its mouth. While not mentioned in the manga, his name is also given as Ryuu Yisou.
