Makimachi, Misao
Summary
Misao Makimachi is a capable ninja belonging to the Oniwabanshū, an onmitsu group once stationed in Edo. She primarily wields kunai as her weapons of choice. Although she is sixteen years old at the time of her introduction, her youthful appearance often makes her seem younger. As the granddaughter of the former okashira of the Oniwabanshū, she was initially under the guardianship of the clan's last leader, Shinomori Aoshi. When she was eight years old, Aoshi, along with Han'nya, Shikijō, Beshimi, and Hyottoko, entrusted her to Kashiwazaki Nenji, also known as Okina of the Oniwabanshū. While Misao shared a strong bond with Okina, she always considered Aoshi the best. She also held a special affection for Han'nya, who consistently looked after her and instructed her in combat. Upon learning that Aoshi had traveled to Tokyo, she set out to find him and encountered Himura Kenshin while returning to Kyoto.
