Summary
For a long time, Eris acted as an assistant to Rezo, aiding his research into a cure for his blindness and facilitating his miracles. She eventually developed romantic feelings for him, though it remains unclear if those emotions were reciprocated. During this period, she also assisted Rezo in creating a clone of himself known as Copy Rezo. Desperate to restore his sight, Rezo left Eris behind to search for the Philosopher's Stone. Several months later, she received news that he had been slain by Lina Inverse, Gourry Gabriev, and Zelgadiss Graywords. At the time, she was unaware that Rezo had a fragment of Ruby Eye Shabranigdu sealed within him and that the trio had killed him to destroy that entity after it had been resurrected. Consumed by grief and rage over Rezo’s death, Eris utilized Copy Rezo to place a bounty on the three adventurers in the late Red Priest’s name. She also hired the bounty hunter Zangulus and created numerous other Copies, with Vrumugun being one of them. In the novels, she additionally dispatched Rahanimu and Dilgear alongside Vrumugun. Her plan was to lure Lina, Gourry, and Zelgadiss to Sairaag so she could exact her revenge. However, Copy Rezo betrayed her before she could execute her scheme. As she lay dying, she realized too late that despite her efforts, she should have recognized that Copy Rezo was not the true Rezo. He then obliterated her, leaving no physical remains behind. In the manga, Eris appears only in flashbacks, as the narrative indicates that Copy Rezo had already killed her before the Slayers arrived in Sairaag. Her full name is mentioned exclusively in the light novels.
