Summary
Tomohiro Nagatsuka is a short, lonely boy who views Ishida’s offer to let him take Ishida’s bicycle as an unbreakable bond of friendship. Consequently, Nagatsuka declares himself Ishida’s best friend and begins to idolize him. He is obsessive and protective, often disliking Ishida’s interactions with others, yet remains supportive and offers advice. Driven by ambitions to become a millionaire and a film director, he funds friends and enters a film competition featuring himself and Ishida. While Ueno and Kawai find him repulsive, and Ishida feels uncomfortable with Nagatsuka’s blind loyalty, Nagatsuka’s failed film only strengthens his resolve to study film in college.
