Summary
Duclis served as a companion to the royal family of Taforashia until the outbreak of the Durum sickness devastated the kingdom. Although he and Prince Pokota attempted to cure the afflicted, the disease progressed too rapidly. The Red Priest, Rezo, intervened by placing the population into a deep sleep while searching for a remedy, simultaneously transferring the spirits of Duclis and Pokota into new animal-like bodies to protect them from the illness. Duclis makes his debut in the fifth episode of Slayers REVOLUTION. Upon Lina and her friends entering the Taforashia royal mansion, they encounter Duclis alongside Gioconda and Ozel. Duclis is currently aligned with Gioconda, a marquess from Ruvinagald who is seizing control of the kingdom. His motivation stems from the belief that since no one else is acting to rescue the sleeping citizens, he has no alternative but to ally with Ruvinagald. However, Duclis eventually turns against Gioconda after discovering she embezzled foreign aid intended for Taforashia. He triggers the activation of the Zanaffar armor she wears, which summons a perfect Zanaffar that devours her. Duclis then strikes a pact with the creature, agreeing to destroy all cities and nations that failed to assist Taforashia in exchange for the creation of more perfect Zanaffars. Following the defeat of Zanaffar by Lina and her companions, Duclis reappears, his body increasingly consumed by the Zanaffar armor, forcing him to walk on four legs like a centaur. He offers Pokota the chance to kill him, but after the prince refuses, Duclis departs.
