Summary

Standing at 7' 4'' and weighing 255 lbs, Piccolo is a Namekian whose birth year is recorded as 753. He finds solace in meditation within quiet places and has a peculiar preference for water, particularly that from the melted ice in the Northern Area, while having no favorite vehicle. As a figure from the Dragon Ball metaseries, he is both the son and reincarnation of Demon King Piccolo, created to evade death at the hands of Son Goku. Resembling his father as a tall, green, pointy-eared humanoid, he is later identified as a member of the alien Namekian race. Initially driven by a desire for revenge against Goku, Piccolo aimed to defeat and kill him during the 23rd Budokai Tenkaichi. Following a narrow loss, he reluctantly allied with Goku and his friends to face emerging dangers like the Saiyans and Freeza. Necessity led him to train Goku’s son, Son Gohan, forging a bond that deepened when Piccolo sacrificed himself to save Gohan from Nappa. After being resurrected, he fully integrated into the group’s efforts against increasingly powerful adversaries. Although he retains some ruthlessness and cockiness, fusing with Kami erased all traces of evil and hate, resulting in a complete spiritual rebirth. Piccolo remains a loner who prefers distance from others, speaking little unless combat is involved, yet maintaining a stoic and calm demeanor in daily life. His intelligence is evident in his ability to regenerate his arm after Cell drained it and his decision to kill Babidi to prevent the Buu threat. This sharp intellect even attracted Buu, who later absorbed him for his superior brain. Piccolo’s arc transforms him from a vengeful villain seeking world control into a compassionate individual who cares for Gohan and Goku. He shows interest in his Namekian heritage and displays a natural affinity for children, having trained Gohan for a year, assisting Goten and Trunks with Fusion, and humorously rocking Pan to sleep in Fukkatsu no F. He also serves as a mentor to Dende, a younger Namekian tasked with protecting Earth, imparting the wisdom he gained from his union with Kami, who previously held Dende’s role.
