Kugayama, Mitsunori
Summary
Kugayama Mitsunori is a stuttering, heavyset student who serves as the sole artist for Genshiken until Ogiue joins the club. He typically lacks the drive and dedication required to produce a complete dōjinshi. In volume 5, Sasahara requests that Kugayama create a work for Comic-Fest, but he fails to deliver until Saki compels him, Ogiue, and Sasahara to collaborate under a tight deadline. Saki gives him the nickname Kugapii. After graduating in volume 6, he starts working at a medical device manufacturing company in Iidabashi. Although he initially appears to be a mediocre artist, Kugayama is actually quite talented, though his skill only emerges when he is properly motivated, such as when drawing erotic imagery, particularly of Yamada from Kujibiki Unbalance.
