Summary
Masumi Okuyama is a fourth-year timpanist and percussionist who suffers from claustrophobia. Identified as an okama, he possesses a male physique but identifies with a female mindset. He harbors romantic feelings for Chiaki, viewing Nodame as a rival once she begins spending time with him. This jealousy drives him to bully Nodame and any other individuals who attempt to get close to Chiaki. Despite his eccentric behavior, he demonstrates exceptional talent in percussion, a skill that has earned him the moniker "Queen of Percussion." His prowess secures his position within the S and R☆S orchestras, both of which are conducted by Chiaki.
