Oooka, Momiji
Summary
Momiji Ooka is a second-year student at Kyoto High School and a Hyakunin Isshu karuta champion. Her family is presumed to be wealthy, evidenced by the presence of a butler. She firmly believes that Heiji Hattori proposed to her during their childhood and is convinced they will eventually become a romantic couple. Previously a member of the elite karuta group Nagoro-kai, Momiji was the top student of its founder, Nagoro Shikao. Following the disbandment of that group, she transferred to the Satsuki-kai. She demonstrates exceptional deductive abilities, once identifying a trick during a phone call with her butler, Muga Iori, by sound alone, a feat accomplished before Conan, Heiji, or Bourbon. Muga later confirmed that her deductions are typically excellent and noted that Heiji’s outstanding skills were to be expected from the partner Momiji selected. Her story plays a central role in Movie 21, which focuses on the romance between Heiji and Kazuha. Promotional materials depict her crying and participating in an uta-karuta tournament, where she introduces herself as "Heiji's fiancé." An image also shows her and Heiji as children making a pinky swear, reinforcing her belief in their engagement.
