Sanjou, Tsubame
Summary
Working as a waitress at Tae’s restaurant, Sanjō Tsubame becomes Yahiko’s romantic partner. She had been saved from the ronin her family served by Yahiko, who intervened to stop them from robbing the Akabeko. Shy and soft-spoken, she plays a pivotal role when Kenshin descends into despair following the alleged death of Kamiya Kaoru at the hands of Yukishiro Enishi. Tsubame begs Kenshin to assist Yahiko in battling one of Enishi’s former allies, effectively pulling Kenshin back from the brink. The couple eventually has a son named Shinya, a fact noted by Watsuki and integrated into the manga storyline of the Seisōhen/Reflection arc.
