Summary

Iris serves as the female protagonist in the anime series Pokémon Best Wishes. Hailing from the Dragon Village, she was entrusted by the village elder with a specific mission: to travel alongside her Axew and train it until it evolves into a powerful Haxorus. During her travels, she encounters Ash and chooses to accompany him on his journey. Her team includes her main partner Axew, an Emolga, and an Excadrill that she has raised from its Drilbur stage. In the video game Pokémon White for the Nintendo DS, Iris appears as the eighth Gym Leader of the Unova Region. Her mentor is Drayden, an elderly man who specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon and holds the position of the eighth Gym Leader in the counterpart title, Pokémon Black.
