Summary
Pururu serves as the sole female and newest recruit of the Garuru Platoon, acting as their chief medic and expert nurse. A childhood friend to Sergeant Keroro, Corporal Giroro, and Lance Corporal Dororo, she possesses an energetic, down-to-earth, yet somewhat strict and stubborn demeanor. Unlike many major characters in the series, she remains nonviolent and mature. Her design features violet skin, large purple eyes, and a pink cap adorned with a yellow-and-pink heart symbol. In her youth, the cap was flat with a light pink flower, but it now points upward on both sides, creating a catgirl-ear impression, though she is occasionally depicted with a violet afro wig. Despite her tadpole-like appearance which might suggest youth comparable to Tamama or Tororo, this style reflects how Mine Yoshizaki draws adult females. Her cute looks and charming personality tend to endear her to others, particularly the young Giroro and the current Keroro. Pururu reappears in episode 157, descending to Earth to provide medical checkups for the Keroro Platoon and remaining for several subsequent episodes, although her screen time remains limited. Episode 162 reveals the origins of her nursing career; as tadpoles, Keroro, Giroro, Dororo, and Pururu collaborated to reclaim a secret base from a trio of Keronian bullies. During an ambush, Pururu disguised herself as a bee and attacked the lead bully with a needle, an experience she clearly enjoyed. This early preference for needles translates into her adult profession, where she wields a large light-pink ball-point syringe as her weapon of choice. Her current dynamic involves Keroro, who has developed an amorous crush on his childhood friend. However, Pururu views Keroro, Giroro, and Dororo with sibling-like affection, seeing them as perpetually childish as they were in their tadpole days. While Giroro once harbored a crush on her during their youth, his romantic interests have since shifted toward Natsumi. Additionally, Pururu befriended Chiruyo Tsukigami, a member of the Newspaper Club at Fuyuki’s school, while attempting to help Chiruyo get closer to Fuyuki, thereby recognizing Chiruyo’s romantic feelings for him.
