Summary

Mai serves as a highly intelligent scientist and acts as one of the primary assistants to Emperor Pilaf, alongside Shu. While Pilaf and Shu primarily function as comic relief, Mai is portrayed as significantly brighter than them, though she consistently fails to accomplish her missions. Her narrative presence spans several arcs in the original Dragon Ball series, including the Emperor Pilaf Saga, the Red Ribbon Army Saga, the Fortuneteller Baba Saga, the King Piccolo Saga, and the Piccolo Junior Saga. She makes a return appearance in two episodes of Dragon Ball GT, where her character is depicted as being considerably older.
