Summary

As a third-year student, Kiminobu Kogure serves as Shohoku’s vice-captain and maintains close friendships with Akagi and Mitsui. He and Akagi are the only two players to have remained with the team for all three years, as Mitsui departed during their first year and others quit due to the intensity of Akagi’s training. Kogure, alongside Miyagi and Ayako, consistently strives to maximize Hanamichi’s potential. Though he is typically gentle, empathetic, and friendly, and is rarely seen without his glasses—prompting Sakuragi to nickname him Megane-kun—he demonstrates significant willpower and brutal honesty when necessary. This was evident during the gym fight, where he barely reacted after being slapped twice and subjected to cruel insults by an embittered Mitsui. Although he spends considerable time on the bench, Kogure contributes experience and firepower, often substituting for starters. A skilled shooter and tactician, he scored a crucial three-pointer against Ryonan.
