Neptuneman
Summary
Neptuneman is a comedic superhuman wrestler featured in the manga Kinnikuman. Originally introduced as an antagonist, he eventually joins the good guys after being defeated by Kinnikuman, following the series' common trope. He was inspired by Hulk Hogan and utilizes an Axe Bomber-type clothesline as his signature move, a technique Hogan was particularly famous for using during his appearances in Japan. The character is also known by several aliases, including Quarrelman, The Samurai, and Perfect Hunter. He holds the title of Perfect Choujin and hails from the United Kingdom. His physical statistics include an age of 26, which increases to 27 during the Throne arc and reaches 61 by the time of Kinnikuman Nisei. He stands 240 cm tall and weighs 210 kg, with a Chojin Kyodo power level of 28,000,000. His offensive repertoire features the Quarrel Bomber, Quarrel Special, and Double Leg Suplex. Throughout the series, he participates in various tag team combinations, such as the Hell Missionnaires with Big the Budo, the Ganryu Island Combo with Kinnikuman, the Hell Expansions with Seiuchin, and the Nova Hell Expansions with Mammothman. The character's design elements originated from fan submissions for the Ichiban Mask contest. The spiked vest was submitted by Hirosube Naka from Osaka under the name Hulk Machine. The Hell Missionnaire costume was submitted by Koji Nishikawa of Miyagi as Graydar, and The Samurai costume was submitted by Katsuaki Nomiya from Tokyo. The original concept was submitted by Hironobu Shibata of Aomori Prefecture as Ichiban Mask. Neptuneman first appears in disguise as the Hell Missionnaire in manga Chapter 209, with his true identity revealed in Chapter 218.
