Summary
Megumi Kisaragi serves as Black Jack’s tragic romance, a relationship that began during their internship period. She was known for her intense work ethic, often staying up late, and prioritized the well-being of her patients above all else. During this time, she discovered that Kuro Hazama had been secretly watching over her on her solitary night walks. Later, Megumi was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She harbored a deep fear of revealing this to Black Jack, worrying that the necessary surgical removal of her reproductive organs would alter their dynamic and jeopardize their relationship. Before undergoing the operation, the couple openly confessed their love for one another, with Megumi insisting on remaining a woman during this final moment. Following the surgery, she adopted the male name Kei and began living as a man. She continued her medical career by working as a ship’s doctor, treating sick patients at sea.
