Ayako
Summary
As the team manager and the object of Ryota’s romantic interest, Ayako possesses a strong will and a good-natured, somewhat tomboyish demeanor. Although she is aware of Ryota’s feelings, she does not reciprocate them until the conclusion of the series. She plays a crucial role in developing Hanamichi’s skills for actual matches by rigorously training him in fundamentals like ball possession and dribbling. Her disciplinary approach strikes a balance between Akagi’s strictness and Anzai’s leniency, falling somewhere in between the two. Her surname remains unknown. Hanamichi treats her with a level of respect comparable to that shown to Anzai, despite her lower rank within the team, likely due to his general tendency to be more respectful toward women. Ryota affectionately refers to her as "Aya-chan," prompting her to address him by his first name, "Ryota," rather than his last name.
