Summary
During their youth, Shouyou Yoshida served as a teacher and mentor to the Old Jouishishi members. He instructed Sakata Gintoki, Katsura Kotarou, and Takasugi Shinsuke in the art of swordsmanship and the principles of bushido. His death occurred prior to the beginning of the Gintama storyline.
