Illuso

Summary

Illuso serves as a minor antagonist in Part V: Vento Aureo. As a member of La Squadra di Esecuzione, he confronts a faction of Buccellati's Gang within Rome. Though cocky, Illuso proves to be a formidable threat, ranking among the strongest members of La Squadra. He nearly eliminates three of the main characters with remarkable ease, but his eventual downfall stems from a critical lack of knowledge regarding Giorno's Stand. Illuso possesses the Stand known as Man in the Mirror. While the Stand's physical stats are mediocre, specifically a C in Destructive Power and a D in Durability, its primary ability compensates for these shortcomings. This ability creates the "Mirror World," a realm resembling the land of the dead where no life can exist. The only exceptions occur when Illuso himself enters the dimension or forcibly pulls another individual into it. While Illuso theoretically accesses the "Mirror World" through mirrors or any reflective surface, the series does not explicitly depict this method. However, shattering a mirror grants him tactical advantages by creating multiple angles of entry and attack through the resulting fragments. When Illuso targets a victim for extraction, only that specific target can perceive him within the reflection. This process is unstoppable unless Illuso chooses to cancel it. Once a target is dragged into the "Mirror World," all their possessions are converted into spiritual energy. Additionally, the target's Stand remains in the real world, leaving the user defenseless against Man in the Mirror's assaults, though Illuso can specifically target Stands to pull them into the dimension, leaving their users behind in reality. A unique characteristic of the "Mirror World" is that any damage inflicted in the real world is mirrored within the dimension; for instance, if a wall is broken in reality, the corresponding wall breaks inside the "Mirror World" as well. The ability ceases to function if the user is killed. Man in the Mirror is named after the Michael Jackson song of the same title.
