Summary
Nizou is a blind hitokiri who serves under Takasugi, sharing his master's desire to annihilate the world. He possesses exceptional swordsmanship, capable of striking opponents without them witnessing the draw. Although his original blade was broken by Gintoki in their first meeting, Nizou returns later wielding the demonic sword Benizakura. This weapon severely injures both Katsura and Gintoki while fusing with Nizou’s arm, gradually transforming his body into that of a crazed monster. He reveals that his entire upper torso contains similar modifications, likely cybernetic in nature. Ultimately, Gintoki defeats him, and while his final fate remains unclear, he is presumed dead due to the overwhelming effects of the Benizakura. His name is loosely inspired by the historical Bakumatsu era hitokiri, Okada Izō.
