Clow Reed is the sorcerer responsible for creating the Clow Cards, as well as their magical guardians Cerberus and Yue. Born to an English father and a Chinese mother, he developed a unique form of magic that combined Eastern and Western magical traditions. His intention was to pass this power on to individuals capable of using and protecting it, provided they met his strict qualifications, though very few people possessed the ability to master his specific style. Clow appears only in flashbacks, having died long before the series begins. Consequently, very little is known about his personality, life, or character.
