Summary
Ryouhei Arisu serves as the central protagonist of the narrative, embodying a profound sense of escapism through his desire to escape to a distant, foreign land. His closest companions, Chouta Segawa and Karube Daikichi, share this same yearning for a faraway place. Their shared longing culminates in a sudden shift in reality when the trio encounters a dazzling fireworks display. The intense light from the explosion instantly transports them to an alternate version of their city that appears deserted and lies in ruins. Upon encountering a mysterious woman, they are inadvertently drawn into a game venue. Oblivious to the lethal stakes involved, they agree to participate in the challenges once the rules are explained, unaware that these games are matters of life and death.
