Agasa, Hiroshi

Summary

Hiroshi Agasa is an eccentric inventor and the closest neighbor to Shinichi Kudou, residing in a large home adjacent to the Kudou residence. He sustains himself through a diverse array of patents and inventions, with a particular focus on video games that serve as enthusiastic test subjects for the Detective Boys. Having been a friend to both Shinichi and Ran since their childhood, he played a pivotal role in Shinichi’s life after the latter was shrunk by APTX 4869. Shinichi was the first person to approach Agasa, who quickly deduced the boy’s true identity. Agasa was also the first to urge caution regarding the Black Organization and assisted in establishing Shinichi’s new persona as Edogawa Conan. To support this cover, he created various gadgets that facilitate Shinichi’s sleuthing activities and enrolled him in Teitan Elementary, which introduced him to the children who would become the Detective Boys. His role expanded when Miyano Shiho escaped the Black Organization and collapsed at his doorstep. Agasa took her in, learned her history, and helped her assume the identity of Haibara Ai. He also entrusted Shinichi’s parents with the truth about their son’s condition. Since then, Agasa has served as an invaluable confidant and paternal figure to the Detective Boys, often taking them on trips that frequently devolve into criminal cases. His jovial and outgoing nature, coupled with his extensive social circle, has aided him in maintaining the secrecy of Conan and Haibara’s origins by claiming they are the children of his acquaintances. Additionally, Agasa harbors a special fondness for pasta and tomato juice.
