Summary
Yatora Yaguchi is a second-year high school student who maintains remarkably high grades despite his reputation as a delinquent. He initially views his existence as monotonous and predictable until he encounters his senpai, Mori, painting within the Art Club. This encounter ignites a passion for art, prompting him to dedicate his remaining school time to it with the goal of passing the entrance exam for Tokyo University of the Arts. Though Yatora appears composed and diligent, he harbors deep-seated insecurities that become more apparent when he engages in artistic creation. He is an extrovert who easily discerns what others desire in relationships, adapting himself to please those around him. This tendency leads him to suppress his own emotions and wishes. While he relies on learned social skills to navigate stressful or unfamiliar situations, losing his composure triggers emotional outbursts, often resulting in tears and a loss of his usual restraint. Yatora holds himself to exceptionally high standards, frequently undervaluing his own work while comparing it to others, a habit that ultimately overwhelms him. Despite these struggles, he deeply respects and admires the artistic creations of those around him. His selfless and anxious nature is highlighted during a trip with Ryuji, where he pushes through extreme stress and physical reactions like rashes, even while preparing for his exams.
