Summary
Born on December 16, Meiya Mitsurugi is the sole heiress to the Mitsurugi group, one of the wealthiest and most powerful corporations on Earth. In the Muv-Luv Extra route, she surprises Takeru by waking up in his bed and declaring that they are destined to be together. Raised in a sheltered environment, she adheres strictly to the Bushido code, which often leads to difficult situations. With access to unlimited resources and overprotective attendants dedicated to helping her win Takeru’s heart, she navigates her romantic pursuits with determination. In Muv-Luv Unlimited, Meiya serves as a fellow cadet in the trainee squad alongside Takeru. She is by far the most skilled in melee combat, excelling with weapons such as knives and swords. Her background raises questions, including why a Type-00R Takemikazuchi sits in the hangar as a gift from the Japanese Shogunate and why a detachment of the Japanese Imperial Royal Guard watches over her. Although her worldly wisdom and background differ significantly from the Extra route, her core personality remains consistent. She is incredibly righteous and noble, though she frequently struggles with conflicting feelings regarding her duty as a soldier versus her duty to the Japanese people. In Muv-Luv Alternative, Meiya remains largely the same as she was in Unlimited, but her personal history and personality are further developed within the altered timeline. She assumes a more prominent role in this narrative, allowing for deeper exploration of her character and experiences.
