Summary
Serving as Mio’s personal bodyguard, Yamada is a telepath who previously worked for a private security firm, handling detection and repulsion of threats in a manner similar to Hotaru’s role at B.A.B.E.L. It is likely that he sustained injuries during a security operation and subsequently took this position to repay Mio for nursing him back to health. His defeat occurs when Sakaki uses psychometry to uncover his backstory, allowing her to exploit his disorganized thoughts and leverage his martial arts techniques. By using adversarial momentum and inertia against him, she proves to be a match for his reliance on brute force.
