Summary
Gorneo Luckens serves as the captain of the 5th Platoon and is widely regarded as Zuellni's most powerful military artist. He is the younger sibling of Savaris Luckens, a wielder of the Heaven's Blade. The Luckens family holds a prestigious status in Grendan, and Gorneo possesses insider knowledge regarding the Haikizoku, which makes him a target for Haia. While his DITE remains unrevealed, it is presumed to be a pair of gauntlets similar to his brother's, and the two share comparable combat techniques. Despite their familial bond, Savaris views Gorneo as merely mediocre and shows little regard for him. Gahard Vallen was Gorneo's senpai. Following Layfon's incapacitation of Gahard, Gorneo became deeply traumatized and ceased smiling entirely. He harbored intense resentment toward Layfon, desiring both atonement and revenge. Upon learning of Gahard's death from Savaris, Gorneo broke down in tears. Although he still viewed Layfon as an adversary, he acknowledged that Layfon was the only one capable of saving Zuellni from the Dying Slave. Consequently, he agreed to transport Leerin to provide Layfon with the Psyharden DITE. Gorneo is frequently accompanied by Shante, whom he cares for deeply. He once told Layfon that he could kill him as long as Shante remained unharmed. However, Shante often complicates matters by overextending her efforts to help. When Grendan approached Zuellni, Gorneo chose to side with Zuellni because that was where Shante was. This decision led to an energetic hug from Shante that nearly caused an accident involving herself, Gorneo, and Leerin. Eventually, Gorneo accepted Layfon as a friend, requesting a friendly sparring match to have Layfon train Shante. Afterward, he shook hands with Layfon, signaling a truce. The Chrome Shelled Regios artbook lists his name as Golneo Rukkense.
