Miyata, Father
Summary
Miyata serves as the father and coach of Ichiro Miyata, having instilled in him a deep passion for boxing. He is a former Japan and OPBF champion who was regarded as a serious world contender during his prime. When Ichiro was very young, Miyata suffered a significant loss in his seventh OPBF title defense against Randy "Raccoon" Boy, who is the father of Randy Boy Jr. The bout resulted in severe, career-ending injuries for both fighters. Although Boy went on to challenge for the world title, he never regained his former form and passed away shortly thereafter.
