Summary
Satoshi Houjou, aged fourteen or fifteen and born on June 16, is the older brother of Satoko Houjou. Though he is currently missing, his past influence remains the key to the actions of several characters in Higurashi. Like Satoko, he cannot distinguish between cauliflower and broccoli, suggesting that both siblings are color-blind. Satoko refers to him as Nii-Nii, a childish form of the Japanese word ani, which means older brother.
