Summary
Hajime Kunihiro is a second-year student at Ryuumonbuchi High School who serves as Touka’s personal maid. Described by Touka as a level-headed and composed individual, Hajime is a formidable mahjong player capable of achieving almost any goal she sets her mind to. She possesses a skill level high enough to defeat any regular opponent, with the exception of elite "monster" players like Saki, Koromo, and Takei. Previously, Hajime lived with her father, who worked as a magician to support them. This background honed her proficiency in magic tricks, particularly sleight-of-hand. During her youth, she applied these skills to her school’s mahjong team, using a deceptive move to secure a victory. However, the infraction was discovered, leading to the team’s disqualification and causing Hajime to abandon the game for a time. Touka later approached her with an offer to return to competitive play for the Ryuumonbuchi team, drawn by her talent. Although Hajime initially refused, hoping to move past her past mistakes, she was forced to accept when her father sold her to the Ryuumonbuchi family. Touka imposed two strict conditions for her participation: she must wear chains that restrict her hand movements whenever she plays to prevent cheating, and she must continue serving as Touka’s maid. Despite these constraints, Hajime has built strong bonds with her teammates, viewing them as family, especially Touka and Koromo.
