Summary
Shura is an enigmatic figure who has recently begun to make his presence felt, inheriting his father’s lust for power and corruption while aiming to surpass him in sheer depravity. He established and leads the heavily corrupt and twisted Secret Police, the Wild Hunt, to support the Jägers and offset their losses, yet he views the Empire merely as a plaything. The incident at the theater suggests that his primary motivation is the enjoyment of causing carnage. Similar to Cosmina, Champ, and Enshin, Shura participated in the mass rape during the Umatora Theater incident. When the producer denied that the play criticized the Empire and attempted to bribe Shura, he instantly refused the money, sentencing the entire team to death. This led to the rape and murder of the group by the Wild Hunt, an atrocity Shura euphemistically described as an investigation. He attributed this brutality to Esdeath’s absence from the Capital. Following these devilish deeds, Shura joyfully informed his father of the thrill he derived from leading the Wild Hunt, revealing that he had made preparations to eliminate Night Raid. Together with his father, he observed the arrival of the Great General Budo.
