Summary
Born on March 22, Kariya Matou stands at 173 cm and weighs 55 kg with AB blood type. As the uncle of Shinji Matou, he is the first in several generations of his family to possess magical potential. Although this gift should have elevated his status, Kariya grew deeply disgusted with his relatives, particularly Zouken Matou, and severed all ties with them more than ten years before the 4th Holy Grail War. Zouken resented Kariya for allowing the family’s magical lineage to decline, especially since Shinji lacked the abilities required to serve as a Master in the Holy Grail Wars. Despite the estrangement, Kariya stayed in contact with his childhood friend and love interest, Aoi Zenjou. He had willingly given up pursuing her after she married Tokiomi Tousaka. Aoi later gave birth to two daughters, Rin and Sakura, both of whom retained a fondness for Kariya.
