Noonsa

Summary

Noonsa was a fishman, possessing the torso, arms, and legs of a human while retaining the lower body of a fish. He served as one of the top four henchmen for Zelgadiss Graywords. When Lina Inverse refused to reveal any information regarding the Philosopher's Stone, Zolf summoned Noonsa and instructed him to kiss Lina. This request horrified and disgusted Lina, who was forced to endure what Dilgear and Zolf referred to as a "deep kiss," a act that involved Noonsa sucking on her head inside his mouth. She retaliated by clobbering him. In the original novel, Zolf’s original intent was for Noonsa to rape Lina, but this was censored to a kiss in both the anime adaptation and the English translation of the novel. Later, when Zelgadiss broke Lina out of the castle, Noonsa observed from the water and attempted a sneak attack. He was upset, believing she was abandoning them. Noonsa rushed forward and smashed into a wall, but he quickly recovered and fired several thorn-like projectiles at Lina. Just as the situation seemed hopeless for her, Zelgadiss rescued Lina by trapping Noonsa in a bubble of air and frying him with a Fireball. Some of Dilgear's followers later found Noonsa's fried corpse and brought it back to him. Upon discovering that the followers had eaten Noonsa's body, the wolf-troll mix became furious. In the manga version of the story, Noonsa had no romantic interaction with Lina and was instead ordered by Zelgadiss to steal the Philosopher's Stone. After firing all of his scales, he was killed by Gourry Gabriev, who sliced him in two and ate him. Interestingly, while Noonsa worked under Zelgadiss' command, Rezo considered him a superior spellcaster compared to his great-grandson. Zelgadiss appears unaware of this fact, which is not surprising given that the fishman never utilized his supposed superior sorcery in any of his appearances across the various mediums.
