Summary
Shion, formerly identified by the full name Yamada Asaemon Shion, serves as a major supporting character in Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku. He previously held the position of the fourth rank Asaemon within the Yamada clan. When the shogunate summoned death row inmates to retrieve the Elixir of Life from the perilous island thought to be Shinsenkyo, offering pardons for their past sins in return, Shion volunteered for the mission. He joined the expedition as an Asaemon monitor with the specific duty of overseeing the criminal Akaginu.
