Kasumi, Kenshirou
Summary
Kenshirou Kasumi serves as the primary protagonist and the sixty-second successor to Hokuto Shinken. While he holds this prestigious title, he is widely recognized in Shanghai under the alias Yán Wáng. In Japan, he works as a lecturer at the Touwa Women's University. His personality is generally easygoing and often comical, yet he maintains a stoic demeanor similar to that of his nephew. He possesses a keen instinct for smell and enjoys leisure activities such as smoking cigarettes and reading. His combat style mirrors the fluidity and smoothness of Toki, utilizing a technique that is akin to the original Hokuto Shinken. Despite his relaxed exterior, he carries the same grave catchphrase as his nephew, declaring "You're already dead," though he delivers the line in Chinese as Nǐ yǐ jīng sǐ le. The author Tetsuo Hara describes him as a unique blend of his namesake's strength, the benevolence of Keiji Maeda from Hana no Keiji, and the sarcastic wit of the protagonist in Nakabou Rintarou. Although his father, Tesshin, is the official successor to Hokuto Shinken, it is revealed that Kenshirou derives his true lineage from the Hokuto Souke bloodline through his mother.
