Summary
Ichiro Miyata, born on August 27, 1973, is a Japanese boxer who competes in the Featherweight division at 126 lbs. Standing 5'7.5" tall with a 69" reach, he trains at Kawabara Gym and utilizes an Orthodox Stance, incorporating Detroit Style and occasionally Hitman Style. Primarily an Out Boxer and Counter-Puncher, Miyata is renowned for his speed, timing, and determination. Although his standard punches are light, he excels at deploying counters, many of which are capable of becoming Sunday punches. His signature technique is Speed Hell. He serves as one of Ippo’s primary goals as a boxer. Miyata has aspired to emulate his father, Suzuki Miyata, since childhood. Suzuki was a boxer who retired due to a career-ending jaw bone injury. Ichiro trains with extreme seriousness, adhering to his father’s philosophy that skill can overcome strength. He rarely smiles, believing he has no right to do so unless he wins a match.
