TRIGGER’s Otakon Panel Teases Imaishi Flagship, Edgerunners 2 & Dungeon Meshi

Studio TRIGGER is packing a heavy slate for Otakon 2026. In an official announcement this week, the studio confirmed its annual panel will deliver fresh production updates, live-drawing sessions, and autograph opportunities across the July 31–August 2 weekend in Washington, D.C.—a clear signal that several of its biggest pipelines are heating up at once.

Front and center is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the ten-episode Netflix follow-up co-produced with CD PROJEKT RED. Director Kai Ikarashi, character designer Ichigo Kanno, and story leads Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka are steering a brand-new Night City cast toward a Fall 2026 exclusive stream. TRIGGER’s panel is expected to pair that momentum with hands-on sketch sessions tied to the sequel.

The studio will also brief fans on Delicious in Dungeon Season 2—still locked for an October 2027 Netflix premiere under returning director Yoshihiro Miyajima—and, most tantalizingly, new word on Hiroyuki Imaishi’s untitled flagship project with screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima. The pair’s prior collaborations (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) defined TRIGGER’s high-octane identity; a fourth team-up has been teased since Anime Expo with almost no creative details attached.

For a mid-size powerhouse juggling cyberpunk prestige, food-fantasy sequels, and a mystery Imaishi–Nakashima original, Otakon is shaping up less like a simple con appearance and more like a mid-year production checkpoint. Whatever drops on July 31, Night City—and the rest of TRIGGER’s pipeline—just got a little louder.
