Synopsis
Three decades ago, a new species of flame-wielding mutants emerged, decimating a significant portion of the human population. These individuals, referred to as the Burnish, continue to manifest unpredictably, leaving devastation in their path. The autonomous republic of Promepolis thrives under the leadership of Kray Foresight, who has fought tirelessly against the Burnish threat. The Burning Rescue, a specialized firefighter unit equipped with advanced technology developed by mechanic Lucia Fex, is responsible for neutralizing these dangerous entities. Galo Thymos, a spirited young man who views Foresight as his savior and hero, joins the rescue team as its newest member. Meanwhile, a terrorist faction known as the Mad Burnish wreaks havoc across the nation. Following a confrontation with their leader, Lio Fotia, Galo embarks on a destined quest to uncover the truth behind the mutants, forcing him to challenge all his former beliefs.
Background
Promare reunites the creative team of and , specifically director Hiroyuki Imaishi and screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima. The film had been in development since 2013 and was first announced at Anime Expo in Los Angeles in 2017.
