Summer Time Rendering Manga Locks 2027 Live-Action Film

The official Summer Time Rendering account dropped a big one on Monday: Yasuki Tanaka’s completed Shōnen Jump+ thriller is getting a live-action theatrical film, locked for a 2027 release. Fans already knew a real-world project was in motion; now it has a window—and a director.
Helming the adaptation is filmmaker Ken Ninomiya, whose résumé includes stylish genre and drama features. The reveal was timed just ahead of July 22, the calendar date that opens the manga’s fateful summer on Hitogashima Island, when Shinpei Ajiro returns home for a funeral and tumbles into a deadly time-loop mystery.
Collected across 13 volumes after its 2017–2021 digital run, the series already reached anime audiences with a full TV adaptation in 2022. Casting, studio partners, and a firmer release date remain under wraps for now, but the franchise’s second life is clearly still in full swing—expect more details as production ramps up.
