Studio Fugaku Locks Tenkaichi Staff as Spring 2027 Tournament Opens

Studio Fugaku just stepped into the Sengoku arena. An official site for Tenkaichi is live with the production’s first real look: a teaser promo, key visual, and the crew that will turn Yousuke Nakamaru and Kyoutarou Azuma’s deadly succession tournament into a Spring 2027 television series.

On the staff side, Masashi Abe directs, Kazuharu Sato handles series composition, Ryouji Nakamori designs the characters, and Hayato Matsuo scores the battles. Fugaku sits at the center of that lineup as animation studio—an early signal that the manga’s brutal, anything-goes duel aesthetic is getting a dedicated house rather than a generic production pass.

The opening cast matches the first-round heat. Gen Satou voices Miyamoto Musashi, Kenichirou Matsuda takes Honda Tadakatsu, and Kenyuu Horiuchi embodies tournament architect Oda Nobunaga. The teaser leans into Nobunaga’s challenge and flashes the Musashi–Tadakatsu clash that kicks the bracket open.

April 2027 is the locked window. With Fugaku’s crew now public and the first voices in place, Tenkaichi moves from “manga getting adapted” to a studio-backed production with a clear runway—and a lot of warriors still waiting to be cast.
