Pan Dorobo Unveils Main PV, Key Visual Ahead of October Debut

Kadokawa has unwrapped the first main promotional video and main key visual for Pan Dorobo (パンどろぼう), the TV anime of Keiko Shibata’s wildly popular picture-book series about a cheeky bread thief. The package lands as the show gears up for its October 2026 bow on NHK E-Tele, giving fans a fuller taste of the pastel bakery chaos to come.

The new PV pairs the reveal with fresh character voices: Junichi Suwabe joins as the gentle bakery uncle (Panya no Ojisan), while Aki Toyosaki voices the sly Fake Pan Dorobo (Nise Pan Dorobo). Lead Ayaka Asai continues as the title thief, and the two stars also perform the opening theme “Pan Dorobō no Uta,” which gets its first proper airing in the trailer. Lyrics come from Shibata with Pandaboy, who also handles composition and arrangement.

Shin-Ei Animation is producing the adaptation under director Takahiko Kyōgoku, with character designs by Miyakomako. The main visual piles on warm bakery charm and the series’ signature mischievous energy—perfectly timed to pull kids and nostalgia-hungry adults into the October lineup.
