San Diego Comic-Con’s Ballroom 20 turned into a hero school reunion on Thursday as Crunchyroll staged a My Hero Academia 10th-anniversary panel for a franchise that has finally closed its main anime run. English leads Christopher Sabat (All Might), Justin Briner (Izuku Midoriya), Clifford Chapin (Katsuki Bakugo), and David Matranga (Shoto Todoroki) joined longtime host Lauren Moore for speeches, live scene read-alongs, and a look back at a decade that helped define modern shonen fandom outside Japan.

The hour was as much reunion as retrospective. Cast members recalled the jolt of early red-carpet premieres just before pandemic lockdowns, then the scramble to record from closets and home setups when studio booths vanished. Chapin credited that pre-shutdown fan energy with carrying him through remote sessions; Briner urged the room to “find your people and keep them close,” while Matranga shared how online meetups—and later in-person reunions—showed families bonding over Class 1-A. Sabat closed the speeches with a simple charge: the characters grew because someone believed in them, so “be that person to someone else.”

Fans also got a treat beyond nostalgia—an unreleased bonus clip set years after the series’ main events—plus on-stage performances of pivotal moments synced to big-screen footage. With the Final Season and the post-ending More special already behind the series, the panel felt like a victory lap rather than a launch pad.
