Synopsis
In a world where 80% of people have special superpowers called quirks, from controlling elements to changing their form, Izuku Midoriya is one of the few without any such ability. From a young age, he has held an unstoppable desire to become a hero. Despite his difficult situation, he stays focused on studying and looking up to the heroic figures he admires. One day, his dedication catches the attention of All Might, the greatest hero and Izuku's personal inspiration. All Might has a rare quirk that lets him pass on his powers, and he chooses Izuku as his successor. After an intense training period, Izuku enters UA High School, known for its top-level hero training program. Among the new students, there is plenty of talent, and alongside his uniquely gifted classmates, Izuku faces the growing threat of a dangerous group. As he deals with these challenges, Izuku will discover the true meaning of heroism.
Background
Mangaka Kouhei Horikoshi has noted that American superhero comics are the inspiration for the series, and has based character pages on logos for Marvel and DC comic characters.
