Ghost: Yoru no Hate Names Its Lead Pair and Rolls Out Teaser 3

The official site for Ghost: Yoru no Hate spent Friday putting faces to its two leads and rolling out a third teaser, locking Shingo Natsume's first original theatrical film for Japanese theaters on February 11, 2027. The Madhouse feature is set in a near-future where work is no longer required and, at eighteen, every person is sorted into those the world still needs and those it does not.
Mayu Hotta, who previously led the Blue Thermal movie, voices Nike, a gifted fifteen-year-old already cleared by that selection yet still hunting for a place that actually fits. Opposite her, Issei Takahashi — last heard in an anime booth on 1995's Whisper of the Heart — plays Masu, a tattooed drifter carrying the death of his family until the pair cross paths at an observatory.
The new teaser threads in "Sugar," one of six original tracks alt-rock band Hitsujibungaku wrote for the picture, including the theme song. Natsume scripts as well as directs, with Natsume Ono's character drafts adapted by Sonny Boy designer Norifumi Kugai and a score from musician Oozora Kimishima.
Friday's drop also included a first poster and the opening wave of advance movie tickets, so the film is already selling a winter 2027 night at the theater as much as it is teasing the decision Nike will finally make.
